Peace, tranquility, and an understated elegance – all of these things can be found in this Eastside home with an eclectic, southwestern ambiance enhanced with antique furniture. Casa de Artista is full of personality and is certainly worthy of the name "Artist's House." Over a century old, this two bedroom home offers guests unique charm with modern conveniences and comfort. Located on the historic east side of Santa Fe, guests enjoy an easy walk along the Santa Fe River and to gallery-filled Canyon Road, brimming with art, décor, gifts, and some of the city's finest restaurants.

Situated at the end of a small tree-lined road, this home offers spacious living areas with a formal living room and traditional brick fireplace (firewood is provided during winter months). Latilla ceilings and hardwood floors add to the comfortable allure of Casa de Artista. The well-equipped kitchen has all modern appliances and conveniences along with newly installed marble counter tops. The living room has a soft pullout sofa sleeper and comfortable chairs to enjoy conversation around the fireplace. This room also boasts a 50-inch flat screen TV and a charming antique desk at which to write love letters...or check your email.

The two bedrooms share a full bath with a spacious shower/tub combo surrounded by colorful, Mexican talavera tile. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed and offers a flat screen TV for catching up with favorite shows while snuggling under the covers. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds, which can be converted into an ample king-sized bed. This bedroom also has a flat-screen TV.

A high-efficiency washer and dryer are a convenient amenity in this home. Casa de Artista is pet-friendly: dogs are allowed with a non-refundable pet fee. Ask us for details. There is a dog run on the side of the home to let furry family members safely spend time outside. Gregory Smith Park is only a few minutes away and a great place for your pup to run, sniff, catch, and expend extra energy!

If you want to be kind of near the action, but in a quiet and beautiful part of Santa Fe, this is a good spot. The art and decor is very funky Santa Fe. The house is cozy. If you want to do a lot of cooking, be prepared to buy basics like garlic or cinammon. If you want good coffee, use the French press or bring your own. Also, make sure you know how to use WiFi calling on your cell phone, as cell service was almost non-existent. And if you drive anything bigger than a small car, be prepared to spend a lot of time getting in and out of the parking spot! If you have a dog, the good thing is there is a lovely park nearby and a creek/greenbelt along the Santa Fe river, but there isn't a yard (just a very small "dog run" on the side that my dog had NO interest in whatsoever.) I also learned that when traveling with my elderly mom, I need to look at the amenities a bit more closely - the bathtub was really high-walled so she had a hard time and the single beds were very high (rough for getting in and out of). One last thing - GPS may not do a great job helping you find the house, so look at the map ahead of time if arriving in the dark! Germaine and team otherwise were responsive and flexible to make things pretty easy.

Beautiful place, nice location. Hopefully they have updated their listing as there are only two beds available.

The house closely matched the pictures and description provided. Comfortable beds, good linens and well supplied kitchen. Very quiet location with a short walk to the upper end of Canyon Road. It would be a bit of a walk to the Plaza. A couple things to note: Cellphone coverage is very poor to non-existent at the house, but WiFi is available. The parking space provided is very tight (length) as it shares a driveway with the house at the end of the street. Larger vehicles may have trouble. All-in-all a good bargain for Santa Fe.

Location is great with a quick drive or a little trek to Canyon Road and the Plaza. Only thing I wish I knew prior to staying is AT&T Customer may not have cell service at the house, thank goodness for wifi enabled calling.

Cozy, charming home in a wonderful location to walk into town (about 10 minutes along the beautiful Palace Ave) or to cut over to Canyon Road. Absolutely silent outside except for chirping birds, which was great and relaxing. We were on a girls trip, with just two of us and the house was absolutely perfect. A family of four might have a tight squeeze with the second bedroom. But the price was right and with the gorgeous furnishings and artwork, it was a quintessential Santa Fe experience.

Great stay over Easter weekend with the family. This place is classically adorned, not modern, but cozy and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.
